Our History





Beginning in 1910, Takács Furniture located in Hungary has designed and created some of the most exquisite pieces of furniture throughout Europe. Furniture made by the Takács family can be found in many landmark buildings and all around Europe. In 1998, Tibor Takács brought this talent to the United States, and founded Crown Cabinets & Architectural Woodwork.



Takács woodwork - Beginning



Takács Woodwork was founded in 1910 in Sárospatak, Hungary. Shortly after opening, it became quickly recognized throughout Hungary as the sole woodworking company to produce masterful furniture. This recognition spread throughout Europe, where the Takács family was asked to design and create some of the most viewed and ornate furniture in Europe.

& Architectural Woodwork (1998-present)



When Tibor Takács immigrated to the United States in 1988, he worked for four separate woodworking companies and was recognized several times for his attention to detail and precision in woodworking. After Tibor learned the English language well enough, he founded Crown Cabinets in 1998. Tibor has since created hundreds of the most recognized furniture all around New Jersey
